We were back home for this week so I took the opportunity to purchase a new solar panel controller and we also decided that if we were going to stay at a campsite for longer than 2wks. it would be better to purchase a little kitchen tent these 2 items cost £59 and £109 the tent being reduced from £257 bargain!!!

Unfortunately we have had to return to the UK this week as my Mum has been taken I’ll, however I am going to continue the budgeting process for the duration of our original planned stay away just to see if we come in on target. Diesel to get the there and back cost approx.. €552 so we are now already that amount to the negative

We stayed on aires on the way down to Spain.
This is the budget and actual for the our France & Spanish trip, autumn and winter 2017. I have still allowed €19 for campsites but envisage we will come under on this as we will be staying longer on the campsites and quite often you get 7 for 6 nights.
The budget is £4265 or for the ease of budgeting €4,692 for 73 days conversation rate of 1.10
This is split down to the following (all in €)
Diesel: 11 x 50 550

We have spent an Ave of €51 per day (including diesel, tolls and tunnel) and are now 1/2 way through our trip we are very slightly overspent on food but way inside in the spend column
Over the next 4 weeks we will be staying in only 2 campsites with one costing €17 and the other €19 per night

Really inexpensive week as we stayed on an Aire for 3 nights and didn’t eat out this week.
We are now at our furthest point on our trip and the cost in diesel has been €335 which is slightly more than I projected but this has mainly been motorway driving and we’ve Ave out at 25.7 mpg and tolls €105 , we’ll just have to see how much it costs to go back as the roads will be non motorway.

we over spent on our food budget this week because when in Spain eat out and eat seafood so we ate out 3 times this was easily offset by the cost of the campsite (only €13 ) and not really spending anything

The campsite this was only €16 per night instead of the usual price of €19 as the lady cocked up our reservation so a good result, without wanting to buck the trend we didn’t spend any money.

This was always going to be a high week as the 1st/2nd fill up of diesel and tunnel costs would need to be absorbed, the next 2 weeks will be lighter as hardly any tolls involved and no further diesel required until we reach Spain
